In the latest episode of Practically Magick, we delve deep into the enchanting world of poppets and spiritual healing with our esteemed guests, Lady Glynnda and Othalo. As healers with a profound connection to ancestral legacies, they share their unique healing modalities and the transformative power of poppets.
We began by pulling a card from the Gaia Oracle deck. The Sacred Journey card, symbolizing life cycles, family, and transformation, resonates with the current energy shifts many are experiencing. As myself, Lady Glynnda, and Othalo discuss the card's implications, we explore the universal themes of change and growth.
Lady Glyndda introduces us to the concept of Poppy's poppets, spiritual entities crafted with intention and care. These poppets, inspired by her father's legacy of healing, serve as conduits for emotional support and transformation. She emphasizes their role in helping individuals process grief and loss, highlighting that such emotions are profound expressions of love. A combination of Celtic spirituality and Mayan astrology and wisdom, she shares with us how she engages with shamanism and spell work.
In any form of mysticism and spiritual travel, it is a wonder to my the universal concepts of trance work. Weaving, along with scrying, chanting, drumming are just some of the ways in which almost every ancient culture on earth has traditions and practice. Witches and Priestesses of storybook are often tradeswomen that weave, cook, make medicines, and create things.
Othalo shares insights into Northern tradition shamanism, focusing on healing the energy body and spirit. His work with Nordic runes and divination offers a unique perspective on spiritual guidance and transformation. Together, Lady Glyndda and Othalo create a holistic approach to healing that honors both Celtic and Mayan traditions.
When I attended their Poppets class, I was delighted to find that after the choosing has taken place, Othalo will cast runes to identify the specialty and purpose of each Poppet spirit. I had chosen one package with two poppets together. These sisters had let me know with the runes that they are Raido (Wagon) and Ehwaz (Horse), both associated with Travel. They are the ladies to accompany me for physical and Astro travel. It is no wonder they have prompted me to move them around the house. The other two (pictured) sister that I brought home are particularly useful with Witchcraft and spell work. I keep them along when I am doing workings at home.
The episode also touches on the significance of full moon rituals and the powerful energy they bring. From collecting rainwater for healing practices to dancing under the moonlight, we share their personal rituals and the importance of connecting with the natural world.
As the conversation unfolds, the theme of ancestral legacy becomes a central focus. The guests discuss the importance of passing down traditions and wisdom to future generations, ensuring that the healing journey continues long after they are gone.
For those interested in exploring this mystical realm further, poppets crafted by Lady Glynnda and Othalo are available at Crone's Hollow in Salt Lake City and their shop in Mill Creek. Their work offers a tangible connection to the spiritual world, inviting individuals to embark on their own journey of healing and transformation.
